The Women Like us project was constructed through the unified efforts of several young women, from various cultural backgrounds, who met together over a six-month period, to create a mosaic of the felt experience of what it means to be a women in today's society.

 

The young women had many conversations about the multi-dimensional ways in which women have come to be portrayed, misrepresented, exploited, and stereotyped and how women have continued still to reinvent themselves past all these possible barriers. 

 

Each woman took a strand of their own identity that they believed articulated an aspect of female identity as a whole, narrating the world of womanhood through her own eyes and chosen artistic expression.
